Love Work Family Friends Games Kids Life

My ferret has insulinoma, he’s been treated for it for over 2 years now, which is a year longer than the vets said he’d last.

About an hour ago, he had his first low blood sugar episode in over a year.
Although I have never missed his medication, the last week and a half has been hectic, and I can’t say he’s been getting his medication on time…though I never actually forget, sometimes it comes a few hours late.

I feel like this episode was my fault, and have spent the last 40 minutes or so bawling. Ive had this ferret for 8 years, he’s my constant companion, and I love him as much as any human member of my family, including the kids.

This episode terrified me, and reminded me that the remainder of his life is probably more likely to be counted in weeks or months rather than years. The thought of losing him is breaking my heart, and I just don’t know what to do.
